Garnish Design
Visual Brand
Objectives
Garnish Design, a Houston-based hospitality design firm, has gained recognition for its impactful interiors in beloved local spots like Nancyโs Hustle, Miltonโs, and Maximo. With a design aesthetic rooted in mid-century inspiration and a love for art deco elements, Garnish sought a brand identity that would echo this blend of sophistication and nostalgia while enhancing its overall brand recognition.
Solutions:
To capture Garnishโs unique style, I crafted a visual identity that reflects their deep appreciation for mid-century and art deco influences. The new brand visuals incorporate sleek lines and geometric forms, reminiscent of art deco motifs, balanced with the warmth and functionality that define mid-century design. This approach creates a refined, memorable identity that resonates across the hospitality landscape.
The Process:
Concept Development: Inspired by Garnishโs distinctive style, I explored design concepts that blend art deco patterns with mid-century simplicity, incorporating iconic shapes and textures that echo their spacesโ inviting yet elegant atmospheres.
Versatility: Developed a series of responsive logos, ensuring that the identity would feel at home on everything from signage and menus to digital and social media, effortlessly adapting to different contexts while maintaining brand integrity.
Color & Typography: Created a color palette featuring deep, rich tones and subtle metallics to evoke a sense of timeless elegance, paired with typography that harmonizes modern readability with art deco sophistication.
Deliverables:
- A complete brand guide with logo applications, color palette specifications, and typography standards
- Custom icons and pattern designs that reflect the mid-century and art deco blend
